This is my feel good story on the day

I have posted on thie forum about an accquaintance of mine who immigrated to Canada 11 years ago. Ever since then he has been claiming every form of welfate available to his wife and him. They have had 6 kids during this period, and he claims the max benefits he can get for them as well.

This friend’s family has never lived in Canada. Infact he rarely if ever is in Canada. He makes good money in a Middle Eastern county, while his wife and brood live in their homeland. And they were collecting all they could from the Canadian government.

One of our mutual friends got a call from him today, saying that the government has registered a lien against his property and wants ALL the monies they paid him for the past 11 years back with interest and significant penalties. He is upset at this unfair turn of events. Out friend is a real estate agent and he wanted to know how to sell the property and get his money out. He was advised there is no way without paying the government its due.
 
Good that they got this guy. It is people like him that anti-immigrant groups shove in everyone's faces and use it to drum up support for legislation that makes it harder for the people who want to do it all legally.

And now he will start telling the stories "how cruel and rude" are Canadian immigration officers to him. ;D

Is that property in Canada then? Then yes he cannot sell it without paying to the government. Even more, the government may seize his property.
 
Thats excellent, he practiced Karma, now the government is going to practice Kama Sutra on him
 
Either way, it's going to sting in the morning.... Especially when he tries to sit down.
 
I am confused here,
how he could buy properties and real state in Canada if he is on welfare?! as far as I know, it is not possible to have house or houses under your name or family name and go to welfare, further more, as soon as he registered new property, that would rise a flag at the government, "where did you get the money to buy that if you are on welfare".

unless, he registered them under someone else name.
 
The guy was committing fraud. People always find a way.
