I plan to move back to Canada in the next few years and have some questions regarding bringing my family with me. I am a Canadian Citizen who has been living in the USA for 17 years. My husband and young children are US citizens. I applied for my children's proof of citizenship in September and their applications are currently "in progress". Hopefully there are no issues with the applications and they will be grated their proof of citizenship.

My question is regarding my husband. How would he immigrate? I see the option for family sponsorship, but I assume I have to be living in Canada at the time I sponsor him, right? Which means the kids and I would have to move back without him for awhile and get everything in order before sponsoring him. Or, could my sister (who has lived in Canada all her life) sponsor him?

Or would it be easier if he applied for his PR?

Thoughts anyone? Thanks in advance!

I'd recommend you move over to the Family Sponsorship section of the forum and start by reading the first thread here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spousal-sponsorship-t46995.0.html

Copy that! I was going to post there but wasn't certain family class would work for us. Looks like it can.

Thanks!
