Ok so quick story. I've been here in Montreal for 3 years. My husband (who is Canadian) and I will be having our 2nd wedding anniversary soon. My visitors visa has expired. I need help on the steps to get to stay here. The immigration sites are so confusing. Do I need to go back to the USA, apply from there for Family Sponsorship, then come back once approved? I've heard that's the quickest way to go. 2 -4 months tops in waiting to be approved. If anyone could help, I would be forever grateful! Thanks for your time!

Hello Kimberly,

You should post this in the "Family Class Sponsorship" section.

Start by reading the first post in the link below. It's a great overview of your options.

There is no process that is 2-4 months tops. Right now you're probably looking at 8 months at a minimum.
