Hi,

Does this forum have any rules about what language to use for posts ?

If it does, why should some posts be sent in another language and not english and french?

I think a forum like this is created to help pple to give ideas, ask, and get answers for their querries. If some posts are sent in another language, how does it benefit the members of this forum ? or are some pple just being selfish with infos ?

I mean no harm, just wondering coz in other forums that i joined, rules are set out on what languages to use on the forum.

well, i am not a forum administrator so I don't know if there is a language to the forum.

But everyone who is here generally has a question and they may be more comfortable asking in their language, like in Hausa or Spanish, because they can then describe their problem better. Of course, what they loose out is in the experience of other readers who may give them advice but at the same time, they get accuracy in what they are asking.

To summarize, I have no idea if there is a set language to the forum. If there is any such language, it is probably English, not even French, because the name of the forum is "immigration forum" which is in English. Personally, I hope they don't narrow it to English, because I have had Urdu and Hausa speakers who have found it difficult to describe their question to me.

Why do you ask?

Rupe,

Thanks for your explainations. I asked coz i saw a post on the forum (about getting a job before going to Canada )tht i was interested in, but when i opened it, it was in another language that i couldn't read That's why i asked the question.

Cheers!!!

It happens every once in a while that somebody posts in another language. As far as I know, the board has no policy on this. As far as I'm concerned, I don't really care but I think it would be advisable for people to post in English if they can, to maximize their number of answers. Of course it would also be very nice of them to make the subject line in the language their post is in so you can right away ignore it if you have no idea what it means :)
