Hi everyone! I sponsored my husband and he's been here since May 2016, I was just wondering if applying for bc housing qualifies as welfare? I actually tried applying online but everytime I put in my husband's information, our application won't go through. Does anybody have experience on this?

Yes - I believe this can be categorized as social assistance. I would avoid applying since this could jeopardize your PR application. When you sponsor, you have to demonstrate that you can support him without assistance. Going on BC housing indicates you need assistance.
To answer your second question, I don't believe visitors qualify for this benefit. Perhaps that's why it's rejecting your application when you add your husband?
