Barcode generation issue - HELP!!

I am doing an outland family sponsorship application for my American husband. I am currently using a Mac (OS Sierra) and for some reason the barcodes aren't generating on the the following documents:

1. Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking (IMM 1344)
2. Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008]

Are these the only applications that need the barcode?

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe acrobat reader, restarting my computer, tried my husbands Mac, tried a Windows computer at work and nothing works. I don't know why it won't generate the barcodes. HELP!!

I've never been able to get the barcodes working on my MacBook Pro, I have to use my Win10 laptop.

How did you finally accomplish that feat?

If I remember correctly, I think I had to roll back to an older version of Adobe Reader. Currently on version 11.0.19. It's been a while, so I don't know if it has self-updated since.

I am running El Capitan 10.11.6.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I downgraded to the adobe version 11.0.10 and it fixed the problem.
