Quick question - To apply for the PT notification from Ontario the fees must be made payable to the Ontario Minister of Finance and in Canadian dollars only. The bank here I am trying to send the demand draft through, wants the SWIFT Bank code for the Ontario Minister of Finance. Any one who applied before has the SWIFT code or any other details will be helpful.

Thanks
Krishna

To my knowledge, demand drafts don't need a SWIFT code, and I do not remember needing a SWIFT code when I sent my application in.
Let me search the Application Guide, and get back to you.

Yeah, I checked the website and the application guide again, and it's just not given at all. I also checked my receipt for the bank draft I had drawn, and yeah, no SWIFT code was ever necessary.

Hi,

FYI.

Swift codes are only needed if the funds will be transferred electronically. If it's a bank draft, no need for a SWIFT code. You'll just have to have the correct payee name..

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks for taking time out to check and confirm. I will speak to my bank again and see why they need the code for a demand draft.

Lastly, I have an issue with my name not matching between what is listed on my Passport and the version of my name mentioned in educational and job certificates.

Would an affidavit stating that both versions of the name are for the same person, be enough for CIC? Should it be in a specific format or would they need any other validation?

Thanks again!
Krishna

Just so I am clear, your name as mentioned on the passport is different from your name on other documents, including your application itself?

Aragorn165,

Yes my name as mentioned on the passport is different from my name on other the documents (Educational, Work Experience, PAN Card etc).

On my EE application I have updated my name as shown in the Passport, which unfortunately is supported only by the Passport itself?

Declare the other name as an alias in the EE and OINP applications, then include a letter of explanation and preferably a certificate declaring the name change (for OINP and later on CIC) as to why you have different names.

This is what I did when birth certificate and passport names were different, and it was accepted by CIC. I used the passport name as the primary name.

Thanks bellaluna. I haven't come across the option of updating an alias in the EE or OINP applications. Is there a field like that?
