Bank Statement or Bank Certificate?

Hi guys! I am planning to submit my application for SP this June. From the CIC website, it was indicated that I would have to submit a 24-month bank records? Does this mean that I have to submit a 24-month bank statement? But it will take some time to request this from the bank. Can I use a bank certificate instead which shows only my outstanding balance? Would this affect the approval of my application? Thanks, again!!

hi john, if that is what's indicated in the checklist, then you must provide 24 months of bank statement. the visa officer is not only concerned with your outstanding but also the authenticity of your document and your financial strength for the past years. It shows whether you had or currently have a steady income which match your strength to finance your studies.

Yes, mostly from my personal savings plus loan and also, my mother who has just retired from work will provide me cash support. I have been working since 1999 and I can show from my payslips that I have been able to save some amount from my monthly salary.

And even if I can already finance my studies with those funds, my sister and her husband who are permanent residents of Canada and working and residing in regina are also providing me affidavit of support. They stated that they can accommodate me in their rental place and they can even afford to provide me monthly cash support.

@John, Can you please provide a link where it states that we would need to show 24 months of bank statement record??? Earlier it was 4 months only
