Dear all,
I am having a big doubt some might gone through it and possibly help me out. I have completed b.tech civil engineering. I have had 2 or 3 backlogs adding in each semester(most of them were absent) but i cleared all my backlogs in 2 semesters after passing out of my college. I want to start a training program in canada from a private institute and its recognized. Me having 40 arrears at the end of my college. But finished 40 in 2 semesters after passing out. These perfomances will be a reason for my study permit to get rejected ? Or has anyone been in this scenario and got through this ? Because edwise(consultancy) says for canada study permit, It is only minimum 3 backlogs allowed by the consulate to grant a study permit. Otherwise they would reject. Has anyone been rejected for this reason ? Please let me know. I am planning for july intake.

I have never heard of someone having 40 backlogs before. Do you have an offer letter from the college ? There is no hard rule about it, but if you're going to a private institute, and with your academic performance, it might signal to the visa officer that your intent is not genuine and you could be rejected. I don't think anyone has been specifically denied because of other backlogs, but you will lose credibility regarding your academic performance.

Yes. I have received a offer letter from the institute and the trainning program which i choose is only given by private institutes in canada. There is no government institute for the course i chose. The institute in canada only requires the candidate to complete 12th standard. But my latest education is b.tech civil. So i have to produce my latest education persued ? And when i have to submit for study permit to consulate will they mark it as a black mark and reject it ?

What institute gave you the offer letter?

You are obligated to attach the most recent degree, diploma etc. However you can attach your 12th std marks if you feel it will give you an advantage. I don't know how they will interpret the results, but your poor academic performance will be a negative point. Like I said before, it is up to the visa officer and how well you are able to show your profile to them.

So there is a chance that my permit could get rejected. Uhm.. has anyone had semilar academic performances and gone through it.
