Hello i think i have a problem . I had my interview 2 months ago and they said that i got accepted but they have to pend my case to background checks .its been 2 months now no answer . Dos any one know how long it takes normally and why we have no power to acknowledge where we got on this process ? i would appreciate an answer from anyone

security checks are done in all countries you lived in for 6 months or more. so it depends on how many countries they search. inchallah soon you will have some news. you can send email to rabat via the CIC website and ask for status. When is your medical expiry? (usually 1 year from the date you do the medical).

I sent my application on February and i got my Interview in October and the interviewer told me it will take 2 to 3 months then they will call me to issue my visa . and i never lived anywhere more than six months i just traveled outside and worked on belguim for like 15 days for some show thing . have you been on the same situation or know anyone please ? and are they will call me after the status on CIC will change to decision made

I think based on what i read on this site, 2-3 months sounds correct, and since you dont have too much travel history outside, you should hear soon from them. I'm surprised they started the security search so late though, usually they start that right after receipt of file, as in some cases background/security searches can take a long time. In the search box on the site search the word "CSIS" it will give you post others put on background checks.

Thank you ! so i wont be bothered looking everyday you think checking my CIC status if its changed because they might call even if is sremaining the same

oh yes, and online they only make update of status once a week, so possibly you will hear before you see it online. When is your medical expirying? They try their best to issue visa before the expiry

Thank you very much ! i think if im not wrong February .
this what they told our lawyer

Mr. Cohen : As you can appreciate and as was explained to the applicant, we are unable to provide a date for when background checks may be completed, since these are done by other government agencies and there are numerous factors that determine timelines. In general, should there be no issues, it may take two or three months or even less, but we cannot say with any certainty what the timelines would be. As soon as background checks are completed and cleared, we will finalize the case and request the passport. Thank you for your inquiry.
so i really hope it wont take longer because its been ages now .
