So, I finally got the background check we need for my husband - we did it through the mail, so it took a while.

When I put this all together, do they want it sealed in the envelope it came in, or can I send them a copy of whatever they sent and keep the original? (I am not sure what it looks like, I just got notification it arrived in my mail today, and I've not been home yet to get it, I just want to make sure I am not dooming us if I choose to open the envelope as I have been keeping copies of everything on a USB stick and on a cloud storage site just in case something happens to any of the stuff we're sending.)

Unless specified to be original, you should be fine to submit a copy. If they need the original they will request it.
