Background check

hello!

How do they check the person’s background? What are their criteria?

My application’s status is still ‘background checking’ i submitted everything last november.

I'm also on background check, I submit all asked files in january and my MP assistant told me last week that immigration start my background check since february but they don't tell for how long.

From what I eared, immigration will ask to CBSA to check our records, CBSA will ask several security services to do the verification and make a recommendation ( FBI, CSIS, Interpol,...) Then IO will revew it and make final decision. And that why it's take so LONG!

Question: I read that you got a work permit after AIP, did they refund you Process fees? Thanks.

Hi there. Nope. They didnt refund anything.
 
Realy? Thanks. I read in this forum that they refund fees for post AIP Open work permit. :(
So I was wondering.... At least they renewed it for 2 years.
