Probably. Also depends on what the 'dual' is / are!

Would take more than usual time?

It's really as much about whether someone is a dual citizen or not - but rather the number of countries where they have lived and which countries those are. It's easier for Canada to complete background/security checks for some countries than for others.

Tunisia & Belgium
Tunisia could get interesting. But yes, very likely to take longer than if you were say British / American / Australian etc. (think 5 eyes, if you don't know what that is, suggest to Google it). How much longer is completely unknowable. My wifes background check took 2 days, I have seen others take over a year.

Thanks. For my spouse security check has been completed but criminality still in progress. Don’t know if criminality also take as long as Security ?

No. Not normally.

hello !!
What is the difference of criminality and security!?
Criminality check: Your police certificate, RCMP, and Interpol being asked if you've committed crimes.

Security check: Asking CSIS and their allies if they believe you're involved with extremists, terrorists, etc.

Criminality: They check whether you committed crimes anywhere you lived in the past.

Security: They check whether you have associations with any unsavory people like terrorist organizations and such.

Security check can take a while if you are from a country that has a bunch of these organizations.
