Thanks. Is it ok to get fp on fd258 card that FBI site mentions. Australia npc site doesn't tell any specs for thr fingerprinting card I guess

Well I had my prints done in Calgary using a standard Canadian fingerprint form - apparently Australia doesn't have a specific fingerprint form/card they they expect us to use. They said they just need the prints to be clear, with no folds near the prints. Can't see you having any problems using the FBI form.

2nd that. I got my fingerprints done in Toronto. The guy doing them was quite nervous - he wanted to know what the Australian guidelines were in terms of what format, as he didn't want me to have a wasted journey. I showed him the instructions and he opted to just do my finger prints on a standard Canadian form which they use for RCMP checks. It was fine, the Australian's never told me any different.

Hello I found this on CIC site and they don't mention fingerprint. Just name check. Pls advise

"Which Australian police clearances are acceptable?

Applicants must provide a Standard Disclosure – name check. Certificates can be obtained through the Australian Federal Police."

I am answering my own question for the benefit of all mankind who all are applying for Australian police certificate.

I called up CIC and they confirmed that only name check is needed - no fingerprints required

Campbell cohen site is not yet updated as that site is raking first in google and giving outdated information on police certificate for australia. One must always refer to CIC website
