Hi Everyone;

i hope all of you are doing good and i wish you success in your cases

I am newly married and living in Pakistan. My husband is Canadian citizen and has applied to sponsor me, on 14 August 2012. I have completed 16 years of education and have earned MBA degree. I also have 7 years of work experience of working in NGOs as Project Manager/Coordinator. I just want guidance and usually in how much time i will be getting confirmation letter and approximately how many months the whole process gonna take??

Welcome to the forum

According to the Canadian immigraiton website, it takes 26 months for a spousal sponsorship case to be completed from the time the application reaches to Canadian High Comission Islamabad. It doesn't necessarily take everyone 26 months, but it depends on the strength of your case. The stronger your case is i.e. sufficient proof of marriage and ongoing relationship, the quicker it will be processed. My case was completed in 17 months and I know people whose cases have recently completed in 9-10 months. A lot depends on the visa quota for spousal sponsorship, the immigration officer who is processing your case in Islamabad and the quality and quantity of proof of marriage/relationship you have submitted.

thanyou so much Danny4450. well as per my understanding, i have completed all the requirements. its been a month my husband have submitted the documents, but so far, no confirmation is received. in the link mentioned by tahsinmohammad, the visa office is processing the documents submitted on 4th of July..... i wonder when they will be looking for the ones submitted on 14th of Aug.....

Hope fully within next 3-4 weeks your husband should receive communication from CIC as he is been approved as Sponsor if all the paper work is done correctly....

For Stage 2 , 26 is months average time they took last year to complete the processing of spouse sponsorship...See below details from CIC;

The tables below indicate application processing times at Canadian visa offices outside Canada once Step 1 has been completed. The times are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012. Processing times are subject to change.

I agree with Danny's comments.It depends on various things as outlined by him....

Your husband's application to sponsor you will most likely be approved by mid-end of October 2012. It will then be forwarded to Canadian High Comission Islamabad for processing, close to the end of Oct / start of November this year.

hi,
first of all congratulation to get married by Canadian Husband. on the other hand get ready for a hard time because canadian immigration taking too much time now a days
step1 your husband will receive a letter from canadian office , after this step your application will move to islamabad.

step2 This step take almost 26 month, if u are lucky u will be get this step complete in 2 years.

i sponsetd my wife in may 2011 and still waiting for visa. just last month my wife get a letter from high commisssion. but still they did not asked medical because first medical already expired.

just i like to advice to keep all the record of urs crosponding like, email and phone calls and any other documentry prove , they will asked to provide these in future.

well may i ask what correspondence you are pointing to? correspondence with the CIC Isb?

I have heard about the cases where spouse got the visa within 10 months. I pray for the same, even earlier

My wife received letter after 15 months from islam..

1) crospondence (email. Phone. Skype)
2) prove of funding by me to my family.
3) prove of my stay in canad.. while I sponserd my wife.
4) I have new born baby after sponsored. The update forms.
5) police certif....
But they did not ask for medical. Which shows my case take more time.

Bur at the end u r right. I also heard that 2012 case are on fast track. Because they change the policy. But I have not hear upto now about any case in my friends. Some one mentioned in this form his friends get immigration from paksitan in 6 months.

ok so u provided proofs of corresponding/communicating with your wife? what did u submitted? phone bills? chatting histories on skype? email history?

Yes'
My wife call me daily by mobile. But xing company did not give call history. Me call my wife but by using calling card available in canada.
That is a big loss for us because we can provide them as A evedance, that both of us keep in touch.
So for u. If u call ur husband use phone. And keep the bill history of every month save. D
Do not forget email or letter, on special occaission . Weeding anv... Eid) birthday both of u.
