Is a cover letter/SOP really essential to apply for VISA??? I heard it's not..PLz advise Seniors!!

My agent told me it's not necessary as teh documents supplied itself will help and support my case and that it's not a mandatory requirement mentioned under the "list of documents" needed for the VISA process. Is it true? Even I myself looked into the docs needed- and it stated only a 'Student Questionnaire' which seems to very simple. I'm confused.

SOP is not required at all and you are right as it is not mentioned in university checklist. Stick to your checklist. Don't attach any extra documents.

As stated in Checklist:-
SOP is optional.
People started sending SOP from last year.
Be realistic, VO gets thousands of application. Will he get time to read your 1-2 page SOP ?
