My parents are scheduled to fly by british airways and reach Toronto in June.

They are not permanent residents and have only Visiting Visa to Canada and they are Citizens of INDIA.

Should they require a transit visa to UK?

No, it would be within heathrow itself.

Also, planning to extend their stay in Canada towards the usual 6 month limit. Planning to have them here end of June while their Visa technically expires Feb 2015.

pls suggest options

Then they do not need a transit visa. They will never leave Transit area. Just change terminals there at Flight Connector.

If they would not get a hand written due date for leaving at POE in Canada then they could stay for 6 months. If they get such a date in their passposrts- they will need to apply for their visa extention.

Ty Regina. Well the question here is more like, if they enter Canada on Jun 27, 2014, then they could technically stay until 23 Dec, 2014.

Hypothetically, if they travelled to USA from Canada by road in Oct ( they do have US visa) and then re-enter Canada by road/flight again a few days later in Oct (say for example on 20th OCt), then technically that would be re-entering Canada on a valid visa (Visa Expires in Feb 2014). Correct?

1. What would be the new stay that they could be here until?
2. Assuming if i applied extension for their stay by another 6 months in Nov, they could stay in Canada beyond their Visa date which is something i am aware of though their VISA technically ends Feb,. 2015
3. If they had to return to INDIA in Mar by British airways through UK, do they again require transit visa?

I read this https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa/y/india/transit/no

i am concerned about the second exemption.

No, you undestand incorrectly. They got an "entry visa" to board on plane . At POE in Canada a border officer will decide how long they could stay in Canada.

Concerning there traveling between USA and Canada , again, if they do that within "validity" of their permited stay, they will be able to come back to Canada; however, it will not extend their visa.

If they are alloewd to stay in Canada 6 months (and enter on Jun 27) to extend their stay you(they) have apply for extention on Nov 27. If they get that extention they may stay in Canada for another 6 months.

British airways through UK, do they again require transit visa?
No. if they do not change the airports.
