ATTENTION - passport of the minor kid info

ALL THE FORUM MEMBERS PLZ NOTE THAT THE PASSPORT OF THE MINOR KID MUST HAVE A PHOTO ON IT , WHICH SHD NOT BE OLDER THAN 3 YEARS. TODAY I RECIVED MY PASSPORTS BACK FROM ND -CHC FOR THE SAME REQUIRMENT. PASSPORT OFFICERS IN AMRITSAR SAYS THEY WILL ISSUE A NEW PASSPORT TAHT WILL HAVE A NEW NUMBER AND EXPIRY DATE. P.S.- THERE R ONLY 45 DAYS TO SUBMITT IT TO CHC-NEW DELHI. PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ HELP. HOW TO HANDLE THIS PROB

Hi Sharma77,

Try the Tatkal scheme for passport submission, knew a friend of mine who got his passport from chennai in 2 weeks under that scheme, also when they issue a New passport they would mention the old passport number, attach both and send them to ND-CIC.

hope that will work so smooth.do i have to update the permanent resident form too?there i have mentioned the present passport number and expiry date

can u do that update now? I am not sure, think it should be ok without as you have/will be applying for a New passport at almost the last stages(Visa Stamping) I presume the COPR papers will have the New passport number as they(COPR) papers are done when the passports are sent for stamping, will also let other senior members take a call on this.
