Hello, im a general practitioner currently doing a specialization in general surgery. Im from Venezuela and i would like to immigrate to Canada, specifically to Newfoundland because my fiancé (he is a Canadians Citizen) lives there. We are in the middle of a political crisis here and i need to immigrate as soon as possible because my country is going to a dictatorship. I been looking for jobs there, but still can't find one to apply for atlantic program. If i can't work as a doctor i would like to get any other job. The most important thing for me now it's to leave my country, get married and have a family with my fiancé. Can someone help me? I really appreciate any kind of information.

Hi, I don't know much about the Atlantic program. But a common immigration program people with foreign work experience apply under is the federal skilled worker program through express entry. It requires assessing your educational credentials, writing the general IELTS exam etc. You will be scored based on several criteria and entered into a pool. Study the express entry federal skilled worker program thoroughly on www. cic.gc.ca to see what you would need. You can also use the coming to Canada tool where a series of questions will be asked and based on your answers, it will say if you are eligible or not. Go through the website thoroughly as well as the express entry forum on this webpage. Best wishes

Don't bother looking for jobs as a doctor in Canada. You don't qualify to work as a doctor in Canada. To qualify to be a doctor in Canada, you'll need to go through a process to have your education recognized and be certified as a Canadian doctor. This process takes years to complete and costs quite a bit of money.

Since you've already been refused a TRV, best/fastest option is for your fiancee to travel to Venezuela or another nearby country, for the two of you to get married, and then your him to sponsor you for PR as his spouse. It will still be a while before you can move to Canada - but this is most likely your fastest option.
