Hello Everyone,
I know that it is highly recommended (almost a must) for non-native speakers to do IELTS, in order to avoid the risk of getting your language proficiency underestimated by the officer.

However, for those who sent their initial application with evidences of proficiency in English, at what stage in the processing we can be 100% sure that IELTS is "waived"?
is it with AOR? or with the first documents request? or with Initial Assessment (IA)? or with Medical request?

I am asking this question because i received documents request, but IELTS was not included in the items requested. So, i wonder whether i was lucky and the officer was satisfied by the letters i provided or they may ask for IELTS at a later stage in the processing.

(of course i will do IELTS but only if they request it =) )

Thanks

My information:
Applied for FSW (international student for more than a year in canada): 25 Nov 2008
Buffalo Visa office
AOR: 20 March 2009
Documents requests: 10 Nov. 2009
(they requested proof of funds+ 2008 tax return)

hi,
ielts is requested with the initial documents request.for example the list of documents i got ,says:its highly recommended that you provide a copy of your language profeciency,if you choose not to ,then your application might get rejected.and also your proficiency will be judged according to your documents.

shahida.
