this is not a reason for asylum. You would have to marry and move to another region of India first. If you have proof that your life is at risk after that you can attempt to file asylum. Your best option would be to work towards economic immigration.

Why would you think this qualifies for asylum? Not even close.

Hi - you need to know before you set out on this course that the lack of acceptance of your marriage in different countries isn't remotely related to the grounds for Convention refugee status. As a result, should the claim to be a refugee fail, you get deported to your country and she to hers.

Please don't get your hopes up that Canada is policy driven to accept star-crossed lovers, if you know your Shakespeare. Unrequited love isn't greeted romantically by well-weathered Canadian decision-makers who review evidence of traumatized children, torture, murder and genocide as a part of their routine.

At the end of the day and assuming that the above is likely, you both end up having difficulty obtaining visas to industrialized countries after being removed by Canada. You'll do what you wish no doubt, but try and think more than one move ahead and recognize that should this not work, what then? You do not return to square one but instead introduce obstacles that weren't there before.

Good luck, but read what an actual refugee fears and experiences - hint, it's not their parents.

Why wouldn’t you just apply to immigrate? A successful claim based on a mixed marriage without alternate efforts is unlikely to succeed.

Zero chance an asylum claim will be successful.
