Asivad and Friends - can a joint account by a relative be used as a part of POF?

Hi,

I am thinking of requesting my mom's brother to add my name into his bank account having X funds.

Can they be used as showcasing for PoF? Or is the joint account for showcasing Pof has to be with spouse only?

If I can use my joint account with mom's brother to showcase as PoF, can I use X amount as mentioned above or X/2?

Unlikely to pass through without questions. Even if they give you a signed self-declaration that they have no reservations against you utilizing some/all of those funds towards POF purposes.

A better option would be to get those funds transferred to your account and explain the gift convincingly along with all possible evidence and a signed self-declaration from them explicitly stating that this transaction is a gift not a loan.
