I applied last year under CEC but my file was returned in January since the cap was reached. I created my Express Entry Profile beginning of this year for which the details are provided below. I am currently working with an automotive company as a designer. I have talked to my employer in regards to LMIA and they are already looking into it since my work permit is only till the end of December this year. With all the draws that have been happening; I haven't seen the score dip down enough to get an ITA. I am loosing hope in regards to my PR and staying in Canada. Please provide some guidance.

Sit for the IELTS exam ASAP, and get a CLB9 on each band of the IELTS.

Your CRS should jump to 450+

Observations.

1. If you had 7 in Writing instead of 6, your language score would have been 127 instead of 113.

2. If you had 7 in Writing instead of 6, your Skills Transferability score would have been 50 instead of 38.

3. If you had 7 in Writing instead of 6, your overall score would have been 460 and you would have got an ITA on 27th March itself!

4. If you 7 in Writing instead of 6 and you had even 1 year of Foreign work experience, your Skills Transferability score would have been 100 instead of 38 and your overall score would have been 510 which would have got you an ITA on 20th March itself!

5. Even with your existing IELTS, you would have added another 38 points to your score if you had even 1 year of Foreign work experience and your overall score would have been 472 which would have got you an ITA on 20th March itself!

Do you have ZERO foreign work experience or you're unable to claim it for some reason?

If you can claim at least 1 year of foreign work experience, strongly recommend that you do that. If you don't have that, strongly recommend that you retake IELTS and try to score CLB 9 (at least 8 in L and 7 in R/W/S). That alone will almost certainly guarantee you an ITA in the coming months without waiting for LMIA.

Hope that helps. All the best!

Why don't you give a try for OOPNP? It will cost you CAD1500 but will secure 600 points. And they are processing OOPNP applications pretty fast. Just my thought. Asivad can comment on this.

Thank you Asivad for lots of helpful facts.

I did the first year of my 3 year mechanical diploma in India and then transferred over to Canada after completing 2 semesters and a co-op for the rest of the two years; Hence I don't have any foreign experience.
