I applied under NOC 4021 (College and other vocational instructors). I'm still waiting for PPR but the problem lies with my work. The current semester has ended and I do not want to renew my contract for the next semester because I'm hoping to leave for Canada as soon as I get COPR (even though I haven't received my PPR). If I renew the contract for the sake of CIC then I'll have to complete the semester which will end in August.

For your information, I called CIC last week and the agent told me that my file has been sent to the Singapore VO on 2nd December. She suggested me to request for CSE in Singapore VO which I did promptly. Singapore VO replied saying that my file is in que and they cannot say anything before the review is completed. By the way, after my BG went in progress on 11th November I received 2 ghost emails on 1st and 4th December.

What will happen if I don't renew my work contract? I'm in such a dilemma. Please help.

Your work contract is immaterial to your PR application. Renewing that contract or not is a personal decision. Renewing or not renewing that contract will have no impact on your application processing.

Even if they do that for some reason, your decision of renewing or not renewing the contract now is outside the purview of their verification exercise which will focus on validating your employment details as mentioned in the work reference letter.
