I am a non-resident for tax purpose of Canada, while my husband and our children are living in Canada as residents,
now we want to invite our parents to come to canada as visitors, my question is does my income from overseas count?

because my husband's income in canada is lower than the required.

thank you! :'(

Its not sponsorship, so lot of other things matter as well. For eg, parents ties to home country, travel history, assets - and what helps is invitation letter, inviter's income and asset, how much will they to spend so its not just 1 factor

thank you for your quick response.

well, parents sure will return to hometown, even it's really hard to persuade them to stay longer. and their travel history and assets are fine. only our income from Canada, according to last year's notice of assessment, is lower than LICO. however, we have overseas income which is good enough to support their staying in Canada.

How you can be non resident for tax purpose when your husband and children living in Canada.I mean you have strong family ties in Canada.
