Does anyone have any info or experience regarding what happens when your visitor visa is approved and you arrive to Canada and go through immigration....do they usually ask to see return ticket....do they ever call the person you are visiting to make sure it is valid? I am South African if it makes a difference!

Thanks

They very well can do this, they can do a secondary indepth interview or they can not care at all.

A mix between randomness, CBSA officer's mood and your personal screening at point of entry.

FYI - If you don't have a return ticket, it's quite possible your airline will refuse you boarding and you won't even make it as far as Canada.
