Are we conjugal?

Hi all,

I am a Canadian citizen with a foriegn partner. She is separated; however, there is no legal seperation where she is from. We individually have sets of minor children (in school). Also, we have met in different countries a few times over the past 2 yrs. Most recently she came to Canada.

Now... what are the chances of us going the conjugal partner route? Does her visit nullify this route. She has been relentlessly applying for jobs (in hopes of finding an lmia + company) but with no luck... "once you have a work permit..." so we are stuck at this point.
Any tips or recommendations greatly appreciated

Nothing stopping you from becomming common law in canada so no

if she can visit you, then there is no immigration barrier for you two to become common law.
You won't qualify for conjugal.
