Hi everyone, sorry about so many questions these days...

While I was asking question about binding, I got a reply saying "adding extra stuff will also INCREASE the chances that documents may be lost because it has to be redone."

Here is a related question:

Does that mean I shouldn't include any other documents rather than forms and relationship supporting documents? We also provide our tax and income information as well as my bank statement just to indicate that we are financially stable, and the lawyer we consulted also suggested to include my language school diploma since she said the government now raise the English bar a little.

Are these OTHER documents NOT helpful at all???

It is always to your benefit to include any supporting evidence that will help prove that your relationship is genuine and that you and your spouse intend to live productive lives in Canada. Just don't get crazy with it, i.e. don't send 1000 pages of emails.

Look at it this way: no one has ever been refused because they over proved themselves, but people have certainly been refused or delayed due to lack of proof.

I think by extra stuff they meant tags, envelopes, folders, dividers, etc.

As for documentations, each case is unique, and you must make sure the supporting documents fully demonstrate the relationship is continuing and genuine, and that there is interdependency between the couple.

I do not think the more is always the better. If your case can be seen "suspicious" such as that you have known the partner/spouse for very short period time, or sponsor has sponsored before and the marriage/partnership did not last long, etc., you will probably need more information to prove your relationship. But I had a chitchat with a consultant and he advised me NOT to send "irrelevant" information such as diplomat or bank statement unless it relates to genuineness of your relationship.

The bank statements and financial info will be useful in proving how the sponsor is supporting themselves in case (s)he doesn't have a job the time of application and want to show they can support themselves. Same way that some people provide letters from their families that sponsor and partner can stay in the family house till they find a job.

So I think these thing are really a matter of each individual case. Of course, if you have a letter from your employer and also Option C, then bank statements won't add any needed info.

The genuineness of the relationship needs to be proven in the second stage of the process. For the first stage, there is a list that each line item must be satisfied for the sponsor to be qualified. Welfare and criminal records are just two of the line items.

Anyways, I have seen the other thread you posted, and that's why I replied earlier that by extra stuff people really meant paper tags and folder, etc. No one can tell you what documents are "extra" for you specific case, as no one here really knows the details of your case.

Hope this helps.

More is not better. You should choose quality over quantity. There's been people who have been approved and sent in only 10 pages of proof!
