I was under the impression that fingerprints for US PCC's had to be ink and roll, on an FD-258 card, but the FBI's website shows that "...Fingerprints taken with ink or via live scan are acceptable." Live scan sounds like `digital' to me, but I defer to those here that will likely know for sure. You people here really are quite generous and simply awesome!

Can anyone here confirm this, since it would certainly expedite at least this part of the process.

You can do a digital printing if you have them print it on cards and send them in that way...if you send them via computer you will only get a report online that you can see for a limited time by logging in. What CIC wants is an actual copy of the FBI report with the seal and watermark on it, which you cannot do from the online report. There are no short cuts here.

Thank you.

I'm not looking for a shortcut, per se, just trying to be as informed as possible to streamline the process by looking for a...legitimate shortcut I suppose. :D

My wife went to a private fingerprint scanner. He did a digital scan of the prints and then printed it up by paper with the prints on it. We used this to send form to FBI and gotten a letter from FBI 6 weeks later.

My wife did the same :) So, just to re-iterate...you can have the fingerprints TAKEN digitally, but you still need the printout. You just don't have to get your fingers dirty :)

Thanks everyone.

Having never been fingerprinted before, aside from a thumb print at the bank, I think I'll opt for the digital prints. As crazy as it sounds, the ink and roll method just has a bit of a criminal feel to it. ;):o

I just did mine today. They took them then printed them from the computer on to a card.
