Hello,

I am applying for universities and in almost all the universities
All Canadian universities ask for the previous program I have completed, which is 'Master of Computer Applications' but it is not listed in the drop down list of previous programs they provide.

From what I hear, all applications are reviewed manually and my friend said I can choose the closest possible program, so in my case, Master of Science is available.

Is that okay? Cause I dropped an email regarding this issue to 3 universities and none of them replied.

Yes applications are manually reviewed. But, they're first electronically checked if you've submitted all the required document. Also, they give a small sneak peek at your scores just to check if they have to go through yours right away or later. (Not always the case tho, just an input from a friend who used to work in the Admissions dept at and Ivy League college.)
Not every university offers a masters degree in Computer Applications. Yes you can choose the closest one but make sure the courses are relavant too.
Good Luck.

Thanks, but I am actually talking about my previous academics, the one's I have already completed. I have done MCA from Pune University and when applying for Canadian universities, they ask what I have done before. Which is in a drop down list and MCA is not listed in it. So I was asking if I should choose Master of Science in that list as my program is not listed.

Bachelor/Master of Computer Applications does not exist in Canada (or USA), it seems to be an Indian thing or maybe South Asian. In terms of computer related programs in Canada, you have the famous and generic MS in Computer Science (with specializations), MA in Information Technology, MS Information Security, MS Computer Networking or the closest to what you did most likely, MS Software Engineering

Thanks but I mistyped the question, let me change it after making this post. Apologies.

The previous course from India I have done is Master of Computer Applications. I want to go for MEng Electronics and Computer Engineering.

Problem is, universities ask for previous education. Which is also a drop down list and in that list, Master of Computer Applications is not listed.

So can I choose Master of Science as it is the closest one to MCA?

Yeah, I am going to wait 3 more days, will fill out rest of the details in all the universities till then and maybe try and get a supervisor for universities which require it.

Would advise you to look into 1 or 2 Meng Software Programming Master's to give yourself some more options if ECE doesn't work out

Thanks mate, I will keep that in mind. But I hope that I get in for ECE as I need it for my future growth.
