Hi, my mum has tried to emigrate to Canada 9 years ago but has chosen to go back to the Philippines.
Her message to the immigration authorities that she is leaving Canada got lost in the process and when I tried to re-enter Canada with my brother two years ago, we were held and questioned for a long time as they thought we were illegaly remaining in the country. I have now applied for an authorisation to return to canada and would like to know how long the process will take?

I have met someone online who is a Canadian-Filipino and he comes and sees me quite often but over time this has become more complicated as it's a long flight. He is a single dad of two and it hurts to see him go through all the challenges of a divorce all by himself and I'd like to be there and help him out whilst going there on vacation and spend some time with him until we decide to take the next step of marriage one day (He is 42, I am 38). We both are aware that we are meant for each other and he is the love of my life but to test out our relationship, these are real challenges that we have and want to face but my restriction to travel to canada is preventing it and it's super frustrating. I miss him a lot. His long term plans are to settle somewhere in Asia, somewere sunny and warm, so I am not even intending to move to Canada with him.
He has got two small children that cannot travel outside of Canada due to divorce arrangements with his ex wife and we not only struggle with the long flight to Philippines but also for him to find time, leave his beloved children behind, arrange for childcare and not let his ex wife know what is going on when he is out of the country. It already is very difficult and this ARC restriction is another big hurdle for our relationship. Is this something I can state in my application or would that make them assume I'm planning to marry him and settle there? As I said, we are both in our late 30s/ early 40s and he wants to move to a warmer place. Singapore has been a dream of ours, which among many other things has also brought us together. Whilst we do not know what the future holds, we do not have plans at current stage to settle in Canada. Please help as I am quite desperate to get this sorted.
