If u received AIP yes u cn apply for SOWP at this point, but i will check processing time for work permit first.Also cn u share ur timeline to encourage someone.Thank you

Yes but I have not received my work permit yet . I applied on March 7th 2025

Okay I have two questions.

(1). On the online form when it ask when does your status expire what did u put. For me my last work permit expired September 2023 and I put that but it won’t let me progress through because it says my status expired more than 90 days ago.

When u apply did u just use your application receipt to get a job or do u have to wait until u get the actual permit before you can legally start working.

I used the current date I.e today if you are applying today. You have to wait for your physical permit to arrive before you start working

Thank you, but I’m sure I’ve read elsewhere I may be mistaken but I’m almost positive once you get AIP and become eligible to apply for SOWP you can use the receipt or something to prove you applied to actually get a job until the permit itself is issued or PR application is finalized.

Also you didn’t answer my other question from the previous post.

Please do not try to work without a work permit . It says on your approval in principle letter that you can still be subject to removal . About your other question use the current date when you apply

You can use an AIP to get a health card if you are in ontario

I went to service Ontario and the lady told me I cannot get health card with AIP, she says it’s a different letter I need.

Yes you can they just have to call head office to get the code to register you for a health card or you can Google what you need for a health card and show her where it says on the service ontario site that you need to have your eligibility passed . You will also need like a bill to show you are in ontario

Trust me I showed her, this lady wouldn’t budge and I didn’t wanna be a hassle so I left … I’ll try another location.

Hi, what was the processing time for AIP. After you submitted application

PA applied for pr 20th September but did not receive an AIP till 11 February 2025

Try a different location if you can but I am 100 percent sure you can get a health card with an AIP
