Hi All,

I have obtained only 5.5 band in general english with (Speaking 6.5, Writing 6.6, listening 5, reading 4.5). I did assess my score based on my experience & education...etc and i am still able to meet the requierd score 68 even through my ielts results are not very convincing or not upto the mark.

I need to check is it okay to submit my file based on the above facts through i have a low band score in IELTS but my assessed score meets the immi requirement.

Please advise.

Thanks & Regards,
Aayan

Hello Aayan,

So long as you meet the 68 pass mark, I think you can submit your application - I have not noticed a minimum IELTS test mark on the instruction guide (senior forum members please verify). However, it is important to note that while assessing your case against other applicants, Visa Officers are likely to note that you have a low IELTS reading score. As you are planning to apply in FSW-1, you will probably face a lot of competition from fellow applicants who may have better scores.

In my opinion, you should have a bare minimum of 5 in each category to make a strong case for Canadian adaptability. If possible, I advise that you wait and sit the IELTS again. I am of the opinion that with rigorous practice, IELTS scores can be improved.

Of course you may have other factors such as valuable experience and extensive education which could cover up your lower IELTS score. Ultimately, this judgment is entirely upon the discretion of the Visa Officers. If you are eager to apply now, you could always give it a try. Should it not work out, the only thing you lose is the courier money.

Hope that helps! Good luck!

I believe the pass mark is 67 points.

Hi Pyramid79

You meet the points but I am afraid Your IELTS score could let you down. If your NOC quota is not going to fill up soon, it is better to retake the exam, Just practice more and improve your score

send your ielts with application it will take about two to three months mein while you take ielts again and send them, but remember your reading and listening score is basic and vo will question your score so be ready for that and don't think you will get immigration on this ielts score sorry for that i am the victim of this issue

Thank you all for your valuable feedback & comments. What if for now i submit my case with the available IELTS result in order not to miss this chance. Because I am afraid if i make new enrollment for IELTS its gonna consume minimum 3 month to reappear in the exam and in the mean while my NOC quota may not be filled up again like a last time.
Is it possible i submit my case with the available result and in the mean while i prepare for fresh exam of IELTS to improve my band score. And later on i can provide them with the updated result of IELTS. Is it acceptable by CIO like this.

Aayan
