Hello Guys,

I have an active EE profile with very low CRS so the possibility of getting ITA is most uncertain. However, I’d like to apply for a Visit visa to Canada for holiday purposes only. I intend to return to my country after the holiday. I understand that there is a part of the application form that reads “Have you ever applied to enter or remain in Canada?” or something about EE profile status (Not sure how this is stated). Please advise what response to give in this regard and does having an active EE profile affect the decision to approve a visit visa to Canada. What other information can be suggested to show I have strong ties to convince the officer that I would indeed return to my country.

@bellaluna Thanks for your response. I had read some terrifying experience on some tread where some claimed that they were refused because they have an active EE profile. They even shared a copy of the notes from the officer. That triggered my inquiry for clarification. Can you please assist with the questions below;

1. Can i use the same GCKEY to link an application for visit visa.
2. Is my well paid job and savings enough to prove strong ties to my home country?
3. Do i need to get an invite from a Canadian Citizen or would hotel reservation just do?

Thank you in anticipation of your response.

well it wouldn’t hurt to declare the EE profile as an “application” and it’s up to the visa officer to do what they want with that info, if that makes you feel better

1. Yes
2. Only if the visa officer also thinks you’re well paid.
3. Invitation letters or hotel reservations are optional.
