Hey, new to the forum!
Just want to get an opinion on how people think the application process is going for my common-law partner.
Background - met my boyfriend (scottish) in Vancouver where I'm from in May 2007, dated, moved with him to Scotland in April 2008 when his work visa expired here, lived there with him for a year and a half, moved back to Vancouver this September and he's staying (living togehther) on a holiday visa until the application is approved.
We applied to CIC-M and it was received October 2, first stage approval Dec 22, sent to London and in-process since Nov 9. Medicals received somewhere between then and December 5. On December 22 we received a letter enclosing our original christmas cards and photographs and a note saying that they were also enclosing 2 photos that could be used at the visa stage if it's approved (letter was dated December 7).
We haven't heard anything since, so I think we are waiting on background checks being completed?
He doesn't have any criminal or medical issues, there are no children involved, we both have good jobs (he has a trade), etc. We submitted lots of letters, photos, stuff to prove commmon law, such as joint bank account, leases, yada yada. What do you think the chances are of him being requested for an interview?!?!? It seemed a pretty solid application so I'm trying to reassure myself that we wil be waiting for passport request, which I hope would be soon.
Also, anyone with a similar timeline through London, if you could let me know how you are getting on, that would be great.
Stress myself out too much about this stuff.
Thanks!
