AOA all,

I was working in Sri Lanka, where my family is also stationed. (Father is also an expat here, family is here with him)

I had separate work visa, but now will expire in 2 months. Project is finished so can't renew visa. However, since my family is here, I can either continue to stay in Sri Lanka on a visitor (holiday) visa or go back to PK alone.

I was admitted into MBA program, was wondering if its ok to apply for student visa from Sri Lanka office?

Will they be ok processing my request even though I am on visitor visa?

You would need to go back to your country and apply from their.

Thanks am84pm!

guess I will have to go back. Was hoping to take advantage of Colombo's 7 week student permit processing time.

God knows how long it will take in Pakistan.

You are welcomed. Have seen a lot of people from your country in this forum and approximately it takes for them 1-2 months. Best of luck.

1. You can apply from any country where you are legally residing, still advisable to apply from your country of citizenship. A lot more depend on your level of establishment in the country, like your status, academic marks, proposed course selection, work experience.

thanks enfield, will take this into account
