Hello all. I applied for my husband's sponsorship (from India) earlier this year. We are waiting for BGC and DM. Looking at the timeline of other applicants in this forum, we don't anticipate to hear anything before January. We have decided to go for visitor's visa since my birthday and our first anniversary dates are approaching. Any idea what are the chances of approval of the visitor visa. Also how much processing time should we anticipate for visitor visa?

Thanks

Current processing times for a TRV in India is 34 days. Given that you have applied for your husbands PR, don’t be surprised if your husbands TRV application is refused. His ties(you) are now in Canada, so there is a greater risk of him staying beyond the visa validity. It can be done, but you will need to have him supply significant evidence he will return to India at the end of his visit. You anniversary and B-Day will have no influence on the application.

Until he receives his COPR and an immigration visa, he is still a visitor to Canada and needs to prove he will leave. It’s the “Catch 22” of applying for a spousal PR and a TRV. It can be done, but a significant number of people in your position have trv’s refused.
