Applying for TRV - Visitor Visa

Hello..I'm wondering if it's now a good time to apply for visitor visa since Canada is reopening its boarder..I'm afraid to apply now and get rejected since my reason to visit is mainly for non essential travel ,leisure. if anyone apply for visitor visa for leisure , have you got accepted ? and how much the process has taken. It would be helpful if you share your experience.

You can apply. Processing depends on where you live and acceptance depends on ties to home country, funds etc. See you want to apply for asylum too.

You can apply now. There is no need to wait.

You'll want to make sure you are fully vaccinated through one of the vaccines that is recognized by Canada.

As said above, you'll need to demonstrate strong ties to your home country / prove you have no plans on remaining long term. You will also need to show that you have sufficient funds to pay for your trip.

Yeah but checking their website it says not eligible for non essential travel at the moment and I don't know if it's gonna affect my application to coming there. Also, Canada has been changing the date of reopening every time that date is coming so I'm not sure of the date of arriving and with the new delta variant we may go to lockdown..I have my reasons but thanks for answering.

applied in April, 2021 for same leisure purpose from USA, still in eligibility review phase even though processing time for US applicants is 36 days

After September 7, the borders are open to travel unless it changes again.
