Applying for PR while waiting for visitor visa

To whom it may concern,

Yesterday I applied to change my conditions to Visitor as I received a refusal letter from the Government, not allowing me to extend my Work Permit.
Is it possible for me to apply to Express Entry while waiting for a resolution of the application? If I can, then what should my status be?

You are out of status in Canada (i.e. you have no valid status).

You can create an Express Entry profile. However if you recieve ITA, you should not submit your application until your status in Canada is fixed and valid again. Generally speaking, you cannot apply for Express Entry while out of status in Canada.

Thanks for your quick answer.
In fact, I am applying to the PR with my CLP who is the principal applicant. He applied in November and I have been added to the process a week ago. I am currently collecting all the documents. Does this situation change anything?

Would you recommend me to go to the border to change my status faster?
