A little background:
- Currently on IEC visa which expires in May 2020
- Australian Passport
- Based in Ontario
Employment:
- Title: Audio Visual Technician
- Half of my work is done on the books at a workplace, the other half I operate as a freelancer (self-employed)
- Average 25 hours weekly working as an hourly employee
- Average 20+ hours weekly working as a freelancer
- I also fall under NOC 5225 - Audio and video recording tecnicians
From what I've read online my only option is apply for the Self-employed Persons Program and then obtain an LMIA from an employer while I wait for my application to process. But I believe that would require me to be employed full-time somewhere which I am not.
What other options do I potentially have? Is this the best way to get my PR? If I do need an LMIA, what needs to happen from employee and employer points of view?
