applying for PR, recently living together with joint banking

Hi there! My boyfriend and I are moving in together next month and opened a joint bank account this week. He was just invited to apply for PR and has until the end of July to submit. Our question is how this would impact how he should declare funds since we are not married/common law. Since we’re both contributing to the account, it would make sense that he could include that amount in his application, right?
