Checked on their website and its' 168 for online and 60 days for paper. Means that from inside Canada you can just apply on paper and it will be shorter?

Applying by paper is only for certain circumstance so you need to check if you are eligible. I would assume not.

Technically yes, but those are only estimated processing times and they can change or it can take longer than the posted processing time. The 60 days is what you would hope for - knowing it may take longer.

Thank you, will look into that. That would be the best as we don't need to search for work when getting there.

Hey guys.

So I've found information for intra company transfers for spouses' work permit:
In accordance with Annex 10-F of CETA, spouses of EU citizens who are intra-corporate (company) transferees to Canada are eligible for an open work permit for the same duration as their spouses’ work permit.

And in this Annex 10-F there is info that the work permit will automatically be extended to spouses, which means that I don't need to apply for a work permit separately?

You still need to submit an open work permit application. The open work permit is not granted automatically. You can either submit that application together with your spouse's ICT (in that case her company would have to handle this) or separately afterwards. All this annex means is that the duration of your work permit or work permit extension will be equivalent to the duration of the validity on your spouse's ICT - it does't say anything about granting the work permit or extension automatically. You still need to submit the actual application (and later the extension).

Your wife’s first step is for her employer to apply for ICT (LMIA-exemption). It needs to be approved showing need for her in Canada as they have no one in their Canadian offices with the technical knowledge to do the job. Then with the LMIA exemption, you both apply for a work permit. You can both be denied the permit. Or she may be approved and yours denied. Nothing is guaranteed.
