Applying for PR (on Intra company transfer) without waiting for 3 years

Good day,

I've a question regarding my work permit application my company is making to transfer me to Canada under intra-company transfer (ICT) option.

I have my details in Canada Express entry system as well and based on my score, am pretty sure I'd be able to cross the minimum points thresholds within a few months to be eligible for a Permanent residence application.

I have not arrived in Canada yet, but my ICT work permit application will be processed soon and I'd be in Canada within a month or two.

If after arrival I get an invitation to apply for PR status, will I be able to apply for PR immediately or will I need to wait for few years because I'd be legally on an ICT work permit by that time.

It's a very confusing situation. If I'm required to wait, it will be a total disappointment because I'd be required to wait even though I was eligible for PR status.

Can someone please suggest what could be my options?

I'm not sure why you think you need to wait. If you qualify, you can apply anytime (even before you arrive in Canada).
