Hi Friends,

I am currently in USA and on student visa planning to apply for PR Canada, but confused about the procedure..I wanted to know about ielts and tef exams.
1) Do I need to give the exams before submitting the Application package ?

2) And from where I can take TEF exam ?

3)I did my studies in US Is IELTS compulsory ? I have heard that sometimes depending upon the application like if my studied in US then the PR Officer might waive the IELTS exams and it may not be required then..!!! Is it true ????

4) I have 1.8 months of work experience in US(as a summer coop) and India(Full time Employee), but that has been along with the studies. Can I still Apply for PR Canada ? Or I need to wait for some more time before I get FULLTIME.

5) I might get h1b visa this year, So can I still apply under Fedral Skilled Worker PR or there is some other qouta for H1B visa. And how will it affect my application if my status changes from F1-H1B visa in USA.?

Please Answer my questions. Will Appreciate it.

Thanks !! :)

No.

Google is your friend

Yes, it will be compulsory unless you grew up in an English speaking country, ALL your schooling was in English and the home language was English.

4) I have 1.8 months of work experience in US(as a summer coop) and India(Full time Employee), but that has been along with the studies. Can I still Apply for PR Canada ? Or I need to wait for some more time before I get FULLTIME.

You need 1 years continuous experience in an occupation on the List of 38. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/backgrounders/2008/2008-11-28a.asp Otherwise you don't qualify.

5) I might get h1b visa this year, So can I still apply under Fedral Skilled Worker PR or there is some other qouta for H1B visa. And how will it affect my application if my status changes from F1-H1B visa in USA.?

It doesn't with but with an H1B you may be eligible for PNP in Alberta http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/campaigns/h1b.html

Please Answer my questions. Will Appreciate it.

Thanks !! :)

Although it is not mandatory, I would suggest you...... before submitting application can save your valuable time and keep you out of stress; If your native language is neither English nor French, in most cases having IELTS and TEF are the only choice. Please check the following link for information about IELTS

http://www.ielts.org/

AND TEF

http://www.fiaf.org/frenchclasses/frenchexam-tef.shtml

2) And from where I can take TEF exam ?

It may happen. But who would like to take the risk?!

4) I have 1.8 months of work experience in US(as a summer coop) and India(Full time Employee), but that has been along with the studies. Can I still Apply for PR Canada ? Or I need to wait for some more time before I get FULLTIME.

There are few factors to get selected. Please check the following link to find if you qualify,

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp

I do not know whether a person holding an H1B visa has got any restriction to apply for a Canadian PR status. But a Canadian PR status holder may not have a PR status in another country at the same time. But that is a question of "Future" only. Nothing has been guaranteed to you..Neither the H1B visa nor the Canadian PR status.

Thank you.
