applying for PR and OWP at the same time under LCP

Hi!

We temporary foreign workers under LCP can apply for the OWP and PR at the same time, right? My question is, do we still have to fill up the IMM 1249 (Application to change conditions, extend my stay or remain Canada) form and write "Open Work Permit'" at the topmost part of the page and submit it alongside with the other documents required for PR application? I believe that's how our senior colleagues under LCP used to do when they applied for their PR.

I couldn't find a thread similar to my query so I hope someone would be kind enough to answer me. Thanks!

2. Open work permit

What is an open work permit and am I eligible to apply for one?

An open work permit allows you to accept employment and to work for any employer for the time period specified on the work permit. It can only be granted once you have received first stage approval (approval in principle) of your application for permanent residence. You should submit your application for an open work permit (IMM 1249) together with your application for permanent residence (IMM 0008). Write “open work permit” at the top of your application (IMM 1249).
