I am a dual citizen (UK/Hong Kong) currently in Canada on a study permit (issued to my UK passport). I will graduate from university in November and I will start working in Calgary shortly afterwards.

However, my UK passport (and study permit) will expire in December 2021. I didn't renew it because I had plans to go back to the UK after graduation, but I was very recently hired to a full-time position here. I don't particularly want to risk waiting for a new UK passport to apply for a PGWP, especially since my job starts quite soon.

My HK passport is valid until December 2027. I was wondering if I could:
  • Apply for a PGWP with my HK passport, or,
  • Apply for permanent residence under the new public policy for graduates who are HK passport holders
I technically meet the eligibility criteria for both the PGWP and the PR programs, but I am concerned that my current status in Canada is linked only to my UK passport. If I submit an application with my HK passport and existing UCI, would this be accepted? My name is exactly the same in both passports, my final transcripts, and my degree.

Thank you all in advance for your insight.
