Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello friends

I have a PR and will land in Toronto in another two weeks. My parents are in India and I would like to apply for their visas. Can I apply for visitor visa (TRV) now for them is my first question?

If I apply for TRV for my parents, do I need to include a letter written and signed by me exemplifying the purpose of their visit?

Anyone who has gone through this, can you please share their experience. Would be highly grateful.

Your parents can apply for the TRV right now. Your PR status will have a small impact, if any. TRVs are granted on the applicant's profile, not the inviter's.

You can proceed with your invitation letter as you describe.

Thnx bellaluna.

Could you expound on the potential impact it could have on my PR?

Go for super visa...especially for parents of Canadian PR or citizens

I was just worried about the timeline part of supervise category. The cic portal mentions processing of applications apploed before June 2014

No impact.
I had meant to say that whether you are a PR or not means little in your parents' TRV application.

Regarding the super visa suggestion, if your parents only plan to stay for less than 6 months, you can safely apply for a simple TRV. A super visa allows for stays for up to 2 years, but its application has more requirements, like medical insurance.

So if i apply for their TRV, will a letter from me specifying that i have a pr and i would have spent around few months in Canada and they will be staying with me help? This is because, i see that there is no mention of air tickets or accommodation booking in the document check list.

I advise you to check the Visitors section of this forum and read of other people's cases of applying for their parents, or ask about your parents' case. This is honestly the wrong place to be posting about this. Good luck.

Thnx Naresh and Bellaluna for your inputs.

@Bellaluna, I was just exploring the possibility of someone who is in same position as I am.
