Hello,

I am a skilled worker and I wish to quit the job I currently hold and look for another.
In that case, I believe there is a need to get another Work Permit from the new employer.
But most of the employers provide a job only if we have some kinda document similar to WP. I am not sure of the exact process. Can someone assist?

My next question is to know if its possible to stay in Canada after I quit my job. I am currently a temporary resident holding a valid work permit and I am obliged to work only for the employer mentioned in my WP. Please advise.

1. The new employer would have to get an approved Labour Market Opinion from HRSDC (Service Canada) that there are no Canadians or PRs available for the job and that it was advertised for 2 weeks on the job bank.
2. With an approved LMO you could apply for a new work permit through Vegreville. You can't start work without the new WP.
3. If you quit you can remain in Canada until your work permit expires, but you can't work or go to school.
