Hello to you all

I have been reading this form for a while and my application was sent off last week. I was hoping if anyone can shed any light or experiences on applying for jobs while the outland application is being processes. I am not in Canada at the moment. However, I am hoping to get a job before I arrived once my application is successful.

I have considered applying for a Work Permit if i get a job before my sponsorship comes through.

I was born in England and have been here all my life.(Dont think it makes much of a difference)

Any info\experiences would be great.

Hi

In order to apply for a work permit, you need a job offer from an employer with a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment, LMIA. The LMIA application costs the employer $1000 and they have to meet strict requirements. You can certainly try, there are those who succeed in finding an employer willing to go through all of that, but don't bank on it.

Depending on your age, UK IEC could be an option. The program opens near the end of the year. http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/experience_canada_experience/

I don't think the IEC is worth effort when I have a Spousal sponsor already going through.

I will be shortly applying for jobs (No harm in trying), or the other question is will the employer be willing to wait till I have everything in place.

Didn't know if anyone else on here has been through this with positive or negative experiences.
