applying for jan 2013 intake help

i am from india.i have studied for B.tech 2007-2011 here for 4 yrs. but have failed .i have course completion certificate but no pass certificate.
so i am thinking of joining diploma in computer engineering jan 2013.i need to know if there will be any problem because i have failed my b tech?
Also is the diploma valuable as a degree from university in canada?

you havent said how many backlogs you have.... if you have failed just one time then it is fine.... I have seen people going to canada on student visa with even 12 backlogs.... And I dont know much about engineering courses but yes diploma program has lesser value than degree one.... but most of the students take such diploma programs because they are of 2 yrs of duration and has less fees compare to postgraduate program...
